JOB DESCRIPTION
Doodle Rescue is a Charity committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all Poodle Cross Dogs and has an expectation that all Trustees and volunteers share this commitment and our values.
POST TITLE: Doodle Rescue Volunteer Admin
HOURS OF WORK: 7 Hours pw, minimum 1 hour per day
POST LOCATION: Homebased
REPORTS TO: Trustees
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE POST:
Undertake regular advert checking of the free ad sites in accordance with guidance of Doodle Rescue to identify adverts to contact and / or add to SOS posts
To answer the Doodle Rescue telephone and respond to emails for Doodle Rescue from the public and partner organisations.
Oversee the efficient administration process as part of rehoming, including the documentation capture, this will include but is not exclusive to:-
The preparation of documentation;
Checking documentation to evidence ownership including the transfer of ownership
Update processes as required or advised; to support guidelines and relevant information communicated to volunteers to ensure that everyone is kept informed to support Doodle Rescue standard
The co-ordination of arranging initial meet ups, fostering, transport and rescue attempts
Management of daily queries
Performing due diligence to support the acceptance of new members
Undertake any other reasonable duties as directed by the Trustees
HOURS
This role will require the post holder to be flexible between 9am – 5pm, whilst being prepared to respond outside of these hours in an emergency, when it’s “all hands on deck” to get a vulnerable dog to safety. Some evening and weekend work will be necessary at varying times throughout the year to meet the needs of the Charity.
PERSON SPECIFICATION:
Essential / Desirable Skills
Good telephone and interaction skills
Ability to implement and work to consistent standards of service
Computer literate and working knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Outlook ,the internet and social media.
Ability to build meaningful relationships with volunteers and external partners
Ability to work independently following training (note that support is always available and none of us is expected to manage alone with difficult or stressful situations)
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
An understanding of the work of dog rescue would be an advantage, however is not essential

Qualifications
Qualifications equivalent to, or that demonstrates competence at:
5 GCSEs A-C or demonstrably equivalent ability
Previous animal welfare/rescue experience would be an advantage, although not essential
Knowledge
Understand the need for client confidentiality
An understanding of a person centred approach and its impact on service quality
Interpersonal sensitivity
Recognises and respecting different perspectives and views of others

DOGS SIGNED OVER TO OUR RESCUE CHARITY ARE PLACED IN FULLY INSURED FOSTER HOMES TO ENABLE US TO ASSESS AND BEGIN TO ADDRESS THEIR NEEDS AND, WHERE NECESSARY, TO NEUTER/SPAY THEM IN PREPARATION FOR ADOPTION. TO ENABLE US TO CONTINUE TO HELP AS MANY OWNERS AND THEIR DOGS AS POSSIBLE WE NEED TO CONTINUE TO BUILD OUR NATIONWIDE TEAM OF WONDERFUL, DEDICATED VOLUNTEER FOSTERERS
THE NEEDS OF THE DOGS COMING INTO FOSTER ARE VARIED, AND WE ARE ALWAYS LOOKING FOR COMMITTED FOSTERERS WHO HAVE THE EXPERIENCE TO MEET THESE VARIED NEEDS. IF YOU HAVE PRIOR DOG OWNERSHIP EXPERIENCE (AND EXPERIENCE OF DOODLE DOGS AND PUPPIES AND THEIR “QUIRKS” WOULD BE BENEFICIAL), ARE CALM, SENSIBLE, KIND, COMPASSIONATE AND CARING, CAN PROVIDE A STABLE ROUTINE WITH A RESPONSIBLE ADULT AT HOME MUCH OF THE TIME, ARE ENDLESSLY PATIENT, WELCOMING OF ONGOING SUPPORT AND ANY NECESSARY VETERINARY OR APPROVED BEHAVIOURAL/TRAINING INTERVENTIONS TO ENSURE THE NEEDS OF OUR FOSTER DOGS ARE MET, AND ARE COMMITTED TO MAKING A DIFFERENCE TO THE LIVES OF OUR DOGS, WE WANT TO HEAR FROM YOU.
WE PARTICULARLY WANT TO HEAR FROM YOU IF YOU HAVE PRIOR EXPERIENCE OF POSITIVELY ADDRESSING/MANAGING BEHAVIOURAL ISSUES SUCH AS RESOURCE GUARDING, SEPARATION ANXIETY, LEAD REACTIVITY AND MORE GENERALISED ANXIETY.
OUR FOSTERERS RECEIVE ONGOING SUPPORT WITH OUR DOGS IN THEIR FOSTER CARE AND WE MEET ALL COSTS ASSOCIATED WITH THE DOG
